AI-native global regulatory data for professionals and their AI agents, combining openFDA datasets, citable enforcement records and KRA risk scores.
BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — KeyPedia has launched a free Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector that brings datasets and KeyPedia’s AI-native inference records directly into AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible assistants. The service gives life science teams citable global regulatory records through natural-language requests, extending access into everyday AI workflows.
Where developers use openFDA through API calls, KeyPedia MCP gives supported AI assistants access to those datasets alongside AI-ready records such as premarket filings, guidances, recall data, FDA Form 483 observations, warning letters and inspection histories, all in one place. The service organizes and connects regulatory evidence to help teams put it to work in the AI tools they already use.
The service uses MCP to connect AI assistants to KeyPedia’s data layer. It aggregates and structures records from FDA, MHRA, ANVISA, the EAEU and other global regulators, helping teams move from a question to relevant evidence and then into a research, quality or supplier-review workflow.
“The purpose of our MCP service is to offer industry a data layer that supports the kind of AI workflows the FDA is building with tools like Elsa,” said George Kwiecinski, co-founder and CEO of KeyPedia.
An Elsa Approach for Industry
In its May 2026 Elsa and HALO announcement, FDA described consolidating more than 40 application and submission data sources, systems and portals into HALO and beginning to integrate it with Elsa. The aim is to let staff query data and build workflows without manually uploading documents into each conversation.
KeyPedia’s “Elsa for industry” approach applies that principle to public regulatory evidence: organize the data, connect it to an AI assistant and make it usable in day-to-day work. KeyPedia is an independent service built on public sources and its own processing, separate from FDA’s internal Elsa system and nonpublic data.
A Phased Approach to AI Adoption
“We understand that everyone is at a different point in their AI journey. We launched this product to give industry a phased approach to adoption,” Kwiecinski said.
KeyPedia MCP is built in tiers. The free version gives any registered user openFDA datasets and KeyPedia’s AI-ready FDA records from the moment they connect. Enterprise accounts and KeyPedia subscribers receive additional proprietary data and methods, including KRA Scores.
KRA Scores summarize risk within a defined search or group of records. They support prioritization and professional review; comparisons should account for the scope and context of the facilities, products or records being assessed.
Getting Started
The KeyPedia Connector guide includes setup instructions and workflow examples. Users can add KeyPedia from the connector directory of a supported AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT. Once connected, users can begin with a question about a manufacturer, inspection or warning letter and build from the results.
